Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Retina Vitreous Associates. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our ophthalmologists in delivering high-quality eye care services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide top-notch customer service to patients, ensuring a positive experience during every interaction.
  • Assist ophthalmologists with patient exams, using specialized equipment to perform initial testing and prepare patients for exams.
  • Record patient information, medical history, and current medications, and update electronic medical records accurately.
  • Conduct visual acuity tests, observe pupils, muscles, and extraocular movements, and perform diagnostic tests, including dilation, refraction, and pressure checks.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry knowledge and best practices, and demonstrate a working knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, symptoms, and ocular medications.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • COA or COT certification preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work overtime when needed.
