Senior Environmental Health and Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our team at BESTstaff, Inc. in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

About the RoleThe EHS Manager will be responsible for establishing and enforcing safety procedures for working with chemicals and equipment, ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, and Local policies and regulations, including completing OSHA and environmental reports on schedule.
You will identify areas of organizational vulnerabilities, maintain strong continuous improvement initiatives, and direct process enhancements to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and enforce safety procedures for working with chemicals and equipment
- Responsible for compliance with all Federal, State, and Local policies and regulations
- Identify areas of organizational vulnerabilities and maintain strong continuous improvement initiatives
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root cause and develop plans to prevent recurrence
- Direct the creation of and provide training and EH&S drills; support new employee onboarding related to EH&S
- Provide support in the identification, analysis, and control of occupational hazards requiring the application of engineering knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Maintain records and documentation related to compliance and training; audit reports and documentation of audits performed
- Take initiative to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and upgrade laboratory technology
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, biological sciences, manufacturing, or similar field from an accredited college/university
- 5+ years of post-graduate experience in a technical EHS role in a manufacturing facility
- Advanced understanding of Chemical Safety and Regulatory requirements including handling hazardous materials
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, and risk management and mitigation skills
- Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate in writing and verbally with a variety of teams, stakeholders, and end-users
- Advanced use of spreadsheets and/or database software to plan, analyze, and report on projects, experimental data, and logs
The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
