Middle School Coverage Specialist

As a Coverage Specialist at KIPP Baltimore Schools, you will play a vital role in ensuring the continuity of our students' education. Your primary responsibility will be to cover classes in the absence of regular teachers, providing a seamless learning experience for our students.
Key Responsibilities:- Access coverage plans on Google Classrooms to ensure a smooth transition of lessons.
- Meet with teachers prior to covering their class to review the agenda and ensure a clear understanding of their expectations.
- Follow school-wide expectations for management and behavior to maintain a safe and affirming student culture.
- Deliver instruction as outlined by teacher plans, providing high-quality support to students.
- Collect and save student work to return to the absent teacher, ensuring that students' progress is not disrupted.
- Communicate with parents when necessary, providing positive and critical feedback to support student growth.
- Support timely transitions by monitoring students in the hallways and walking classes to and from lunch/recess.
- On days when you are not covering, observe in classrooms, attend planning meetings, attend content meetings, plan with mentor teachers, and participate in other activities as assigned.
- Monitor halls, support common spaces, support lunch/recess, and arrival/dismissal.
- Attend all Professional Development sessions during summer and summer school, beginning in August.
- Attend Content and Team Meetings when instructed.
- Participate in Arrival and Dismissal Duty.
- 30 college credits; Associate's degree or experience equivalent.
- Ability to create strong relationships with students and families.

Compensation is $19.53/hour with a full benefits package.
