This position is a part-time opportunity, primarily covering Saturdays but also requiring some weekday shifts as needed.

Job Summary:

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI Tech) will work under general supervision to perform diagnostic procedures for patients using an MRI Machine. The role involves ensuring patient safety and the performance of high-quality MR studies. Effective communication with customers, including radiologists when necessary, is crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Safety: Responsible for pre-screening patients for contraindications, employing aseptic injection techniques, etc.
  2. Image Quality: Produces high-quality diagnostic images.
  3. Workplace Maintenance: Orders supplies and cleans the workspace.
  4. Communication: Effectively communicates with customers, doctors, and/or other staff members.
  5. Training: Trains new MRI Techs and/or support staff.

Refer to the department policy and procedure manual for specific personal protective equipment requirements.

Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Graduation from a Certified Radiologic Technology program
  2. Current certification ARRT(R) or ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT
  3. Current BLS certification

Physical Guidelines:

  1. Exposure to minimal radiation
  2. Standing/walking for up to eight or more hours/day
  3. Bending, stooping, twisting
  4. Assisting patients in turning
  5. Assisting patients in arising from the exam table
  6. Pushing wheelchair patients
  7. Assisting patients in rising from and returning to a wheelchair
