Job Title: Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team at Rivermont School in Lorton, VA. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a commitment to providing high-quality instruction and support to students with autism or emotional/behavioral disorders.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic instruction and mentorship to students in a team environment
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Use research-based strategies to support student learning and behavior
  • Evaluate and assess student progress to inform instructional decisions
  • Communicate with parents and other stakeholders to ensure student success
Requirements:
  • Virginia Department of Education License or eligibility
  • Three years of experience working with students with autism or emotional/behavioral disorders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
