Deckhand

We are seeking a skilled Deckhand to join our team on the Creole Queen and Riverboat Louis Armstrong. As a key member of our marine crew, you will be responsible for providing a safe, secure, and pleasing experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Timely respond to all drills and emergencies, including fire, man over board, collision, and abandon ship.
- Check all spaces of the vessel as directed.
- Accurately and efficiently sand, grind, and paint exterior and interior of the vessel.
- Perform and assist others with functions such as adjusting wires and lines, raising and lowering the passenger ramp, and assisting with the vacuuming of carpets.
- Assist in boarding of passengers and assist in banquet set-ups, including moving and arranging tables and chairs.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be 18 years old to apply.
- Prior marine experience preferred, but not required.
- Must pass a USCG physical exam, including a drug test, and submit to random drug screens per USCG regulations.
Work Environment:
Will be subject to extreme weather conditions. Must be able to lift, pull, and push +50 lbs, stand for long periods of time, walk without assistance, ascend and descend stairs, bend, reach, stretch, respond to audible commands, and have visual acuity.
