Radiology Department Manager

Job Summary
The purpose of this role is to oversee and direct all compliance functions within the Diagnostic Imaging department. This includes ensuring adherence to regulatory agencies' standards, developing and submitting compliance plans, and maintaining records.
This position is responsible for monitoring and reporting patient safety and quality activities, overseeing radiation badges, and organizing continuing education for the department. Additionally, it involves reviewing coding and billing codes, dictated radiology reports, technologist charging, and documentation in EPIC.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies' standards, including JCAHO, NRC, and OSHA.
- Develop and submit compliance plans and bi-annual reports.
- Monitor and maintain records of educational, professional, and health requirements.
- Conduct routine audits relating to billing, medical records, and other areas.
- Write SR tickets, test OneChart modifications, and work OneChart work queues.
- Maintain the department's QA Program, update policies, and ensure QA of lead apparel.
- Monitor all mandatory learning, organize continuing education, and obtain CE credit approval.
- Maintain department policies and procedures, staff licensures, and CPR.
- Demonstrate leadership and conflict resolution abilities through effective problem-solving.
- Ensure effective inter/intra-departmental communication and participation with medical staff, management, technical, and support staff.
- Process owner of QRS and complete department audits, maintaining department statistics.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' radiology/clinical experience or 5 years' experience in a more advanced operational role within the Imaging department.
- Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program.
- Experience in the management of Imaging records/processes or a more advanced operational role within the Imaging department.
- CRT - Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association or CRT - Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross.
- Able to work a weekend rotation to support down times.
