CNC Department Supervisor

Job Title: CNC Lead Assistant

Reports To: Shift Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Lead Assistant to join our team at Advanced Plastiform Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and monitoring employees assigned to the CNC Department, answering questions, and assisting with training new employees. Additionally, they will ensure machine operators are working efficiently, reassigning them to various machines to meet production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensure team members are completing customer orders safely and correctly according to the production schedule.
2. Positively motivate and drive employees within their work group to achieve company goals.
3. Assist in the training of new Assembly Operators.
4. Answer questions from coworkers regarding the job at hand and required tasks.
5. Explain and demonstrate machine operation and inspection procedures to new workers.
6. Operate CNC machines when short-staffed and during break periods.
7. Set up, adjust, or oversee the set up of machines and equipment used to trim parts, according to blueprint specifications.
8. Set machine with correct cutting tools.
9. Assist and answer questions from team members for completing projects.
10. Follow work instructions; ensure machine operators are following work instructions for completing the required job.
11. Load and unload material from machines if operators need assistance.
12. Inspect products for defects and conformance to customer specifications throughout entire production runs.
13. Communicate with management to ensure proper setup and operation of machines.
14. Perform basic preventative maintenance and learn basic programming to troubleshoot issues occurring with CNC machines.
15. Keep work area neat and organized.
16. Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures.
17. Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.

Requirements:

• Must have demonstrated work history and ability to operate, troubleshoot, and conduct mold changeovers on a CNC machine.
• Strong people leadership and motivation skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend work instructions written in English.
• Basic skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions.
• Strong manual dexterity.
• Strong computer skills.
• Basic knowledge of machinery.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

Previous experience in a manufacturing facility.

Work Environment:

The work setting of this manufacturing facility provides adequate lighting, noise levels will be moving between moderate to high noise levels. Required Personal Protection Equipment always includes Safety Glasses and may require Hearing Protection for any person in specific production areas.

Employees are strongly encouraged to have water at their work area to stay hydrated during their work shift.
