Job Details

As a Trust & Estates Associate, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of our clients' trust and estate planning, including:

  • Drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives
  • Providing comprehensive legal counsel on matters related to trust administration, probate, estate tax, and other related issues
  • Collaborating with clients to develop strategies that will effectively meet their estate planning goals while minimizing potential legal risks
  • Conducting thorough legal research and staying updated on the latest developments in trust and estate law
  • Representing clients in probate court proceedings and handling trust and estate litigation matters
  • Liaising with other attorneys, tax professionals, and financial advisors to ensure all aspects of the client's estate plan are well-coordinated
  • Participating in business development activities to expand the firm's trusts and estates practice

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to practice law in Connecticut and/or New York
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience as a trust and estates associate attorney
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong client relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex legal concepts to clients
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases with varying degrees of complexity
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical standards and high level of integrity
