Job Summary:

Under the guidance of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Assistant will perform day-to-day HR and administrative tasks to support departmental and organizational needs. This role will support all stages of employment, from recruiting to end of employment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Full-cycle recruiting and onboarding, including developing and reviewing job descriptions, creating and posting job openings, conducting phone screens, scheduling and participating in interviews, extending offers, coordinating day one, and preparing employment documents.
  • Leading the HR portion of new-hire orientation, training new hires on company policies and procedures, and ensuring the usability of their workspace with proper equipment.
  • Conducting new-hire check-ins, notifying management of suggestions and/or concerns, and carrying out full-cycle payroll, including entering new hires, reviewing and editing timecards, updating wages, tracking PTO, and supporting open enrollment and payroll.
  • Maintaining various databases and systems, including training logs, OSHA hours and 300 logs, employee information, recruitment, rewards, retention, recognition, and coordinating and engaging in celebrations for birthdays, anniversaries, recognition, and events.
  • Supporting compliance and documentation of all legal policies and other legal requirements, assisting management with accidents/complaints to resolution, and preparing/submitting first report of injury paperwork to the insurance company.
  • Ensuring employee records are accurate, organized, and up to date, as well as filed and maintained in accordance with legal requirements, company policies, and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or one to three years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, experience with conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations, and ability to negotiate with others.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current HR laws and regulations, trends, and updates as it relates to FSW industry and employees, including knowledge of relevant health & safety laws.
  • Active listening skills and understanding of others' input/ideas, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and competency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Competency in ADP payroll application, time management skills, especially as it relates to handling multiple people's schedules, and excellent organization skills, ability to formulate concrete action steps for a project.
  • Flexibility to travel to other FSW facilities within Wisconsin as needed.
