We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiothoracic Surgery Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team at Northern Light Health in Bangor, Maine.

This is an excellent chance for an advanced practitioner to work in a professionally challenging and collaborative environment, side by side with talented surgeons and team members on all cardiothoracic cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete inpatient rounding and consults, working closely with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Perform minor procedures at the bedside, under the direction of a surgeon, as needed.
  • Review lab work and tests ordered during the day, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Review pre-op patients and ensure all pre-op orders are processed, streamlining the preparation process.
Beneficial Skills
  • The ability to read radiological tests, such as chest x-rays and CT scans, would be beneficial but not required.
  • Experience with endovascular vein harvesting, central line, and arterial line placement would also be advantageous.
