About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at InGenesis. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and dispense medication orders in accordance with pharmacy policy and procedures.
  • Read and interpret individual prescriptions, determining the name, strength, and dosage of medications to be dispensed.
  • Correlate prescription instructions with pharmacy policy limitations and note any discrepancies.
  • Set up prescriptions by obtaining the correct medication stock, counting the correct amount, and placing it in smaller containers for final check by a pharmacist.
Requirements
  • Graduate from a pharmacy technician program accredited by The American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP).
  • Certified by The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
  • Minimum of one year experience as a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Ability to pass a federal government security background check.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to walk unaided at a normal pace for up to 10 minutes and maintain balance.
  • Ability to respond to medical emergencies within 4 minutes, requiring a fast walk or jog to provide assistance.
  • Ability to perform CPR/emergency care while standing or kneeling.
  • Ability to assist sick, injured, or aging detainees or staff exiting the building during an emergency, which may require lifting, dragging, wheeling, or carrying someone who weighs significantly more than self.
  • Ability to see, hear, and smell with or without the use of aides if necessary (exceptions on a case-by-case basis).
  • Ability to easily alternate between kneeling and standing.
  • Ability to lift, push, or carry 30 pounds.
  • Ability to stand on hard surfaces (cement floors) for long periods of time.
