Job OpportunityWe are seeking Part-Time Clinical Instructors to teach students in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program studying at our North Brunswick, NJ campus. You will have the opportunity to mentor students in person at an inpatient clinical setting, focusing on adult patients and their families in relation to health promotion and management of conditions that require acute and chronic care.
Responsibilities- Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching, and service to the College, community, health system, and profession.
- Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads.
- Plan clinical experiences for and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering nursing care to an individual or group of individuals.
- Make yourself available to staff at the agencies.
- Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on their level of performance based on course objectives.
- Be available for remediation of students as required or needed.
- Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with the assistance of the agency/clinical personnel.
- Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with students' knowledge base, skill competency, and individual learning needs.
- Correct and return homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and the College.
- May teach didactic course content under the supervision of a course coordinator.
- Keep the course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
- Work with college administration, staff, and other faculty members to improve the overall operation of the college and student satisfaction rates.
- Participate in the implementation of the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and both departmental and campus policies.
- Serve as a professional role model for other faculty, staff, and students in the areas of customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, dress, attendance, and general professionalism.
- Utilize relationship skills in situations requiring group problem-solving, consensus building, and win-win negotiation.
- Comply with all applicable regulatory rules and standards.
- A Master's in Nursing (MSN), or doctoral degree (DNP/PhD) in nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
- An unencumbered New Jersey RN nursing license.
- Active BLS certification (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network).
- At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse.
