PSEG is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Systems Commissioning Engineer to join our team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the successful implementation of plant modifications, with a focus on system integration and subject matter expertise.

Job Overview

This position requires a high degree of technical knowledge and experience in mechanical systems engineering, with a proven track record of delivering results in a nuclear power plant or related industry setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the scope of work for plant modifications and identify alternative solutions.
  • Sponsor plant modifications through the approval process and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Fulfill the role of system lead engineer for modifications, providing expert guidance and oversight.
  • Support changes to the Preventive Maintenance and Surveillance Program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Identify Critical Spare parts and support Operations and Maintenance procedural changes.
  • Prepare and/or support factory and plant startup testing, interfacing with Project Managers to meet project goals.
  • Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing, and as-built verification.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BS Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Controls, or related Engineering or a related technical degree, with 5 years of experience performing related Engineering work in a nuclear power plant or related industry.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in controls system engineering.
  • Availability for shift work during installation.
  • Must meet Nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access.
  • Must possess a valid US driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Power uprate experience at a pressurized water reactor (PWR).
  • Prior Design Engineering configuration control qualification.
  • Professional Engineering license (NJ or other state).
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum
