Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Development Specialist to join our team at UCAN (Uhlich Children's Advantage Network). As a key member of our team, you will work closely with young parents to provide essential support and guidance in building strong relationships between parents and children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Support: Provide individualized clinical support to young parents, helping them increase their functioning in life domains and address the impact of trauma on their daily lives and parenting.
  • Psychoeducation and Support: Offer psychoeducation and support to young parents on parenting, child development, well-baby care, health and safety issues, family planning, and sexual health.
  • Linkage to Community Services: Ensure young parents have access to necessary community services by enhancing the Community Map with the service team.
  • Assessment and Referral: Assess young parents for post-partum depression, make recommendations, and refer them to relevant services.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BSW or BS/BA in Social Work, Early Childhood Education, or a related Human Service field.
  • 3-5 years' experience in child welfare or human services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively with diverse populations and build strong relationships with young parents and their children.
