Job Summary

This part-time Certified Nursing Assistant position at The Communities offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of medically complex children. As a member of our team, you will provide daily care, supervision, and safety to assigned children, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and document on the Medication Administration Record (MAR) for assigned children.
  • Provide feedings via tube and flush as needed, ensuring the health and safety of the children in your care.
  • Communicate effectively with the Life Sharing Provider, Clinical/Program Coordinator, and Administrator to address concerns and ensure seamless care.
  • Participate in annual program plan reviews and team meetings to review progress and make adjustments as needed.
  • Respect each child's individuality and promote good social interactions to foster a positive environment.
  • Provide assistance with daily tasks and complete necessary documentation to ensure accurate records.
  • Monitor medical supplies and inform the Life Sharing Provider when re-stocking is necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive information.
  • Promote a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Assist with problem-solving and participate in ongoing in-service training to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • High School diploma required.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is mandatory.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in the Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) or healthcare field is required.
  • Ability to perform a one-person pivot and assist individuals with mobility and transfers.
  • Ability to carry out instructions and travel to assigned work locations.
Working Environment

This position requires working in a variety of settings and environments, with a low exposure risk to adverse weather conditions. The noise level is moderate, and physical crisis intervention may be required in rare instances. Flexible hours and availability to work at various times are expected.

Physical Demands

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and rarely lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
