Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified Certified Nursing Educator to join our team at the Virginia Community College System. About Us

The Virginia Community College System (VCCS) has served the residents of the central Shenandoah Valley of Virginia for over 50 years. Our comprehensive program of instruction includes associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates in occupational/technical and college/university transfer programs. We also provide non-credit workforce training and special interest classes for individuals, business, and industry.

Responsibilities

  • Teach specific classes with sound goals and methods in mind, utilizing the entire class period.
  • Participate in the planning of each learning experience.
  • Develop syllabi and instructional materials.
  • Ensure course objectives are met to the specifications of the Virginia Board of Nursing.
  • Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of BRCC and the VCCS.

Requirements

  • A registered nurse licensed to practice in Virginia with at least two years' experience.
  • A minimum of one year of direct client geriatric care experience.
  • A current unrestricted license in Virginia or a multistate licensure privilege.
  • A Nurse Aide Instructor Training certificate acceptable to the Virginia Board of Nursing, and renew training every 3 years.
