Medical Laboratory Specialist

The Medical Technologist I at Children's Hospital Colorado plays a vital role in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric, adult, and prenatal conditions. Our laboratory testing is a key component of quality patient care across the pediatric spectrum. Responsibilities
As a Medical Technologist I, you will be responsible for performing laboratory testing and procedures in any/all areas of the laboratory and reporting timely accurate test results. You will also ensure quality control is acceptable and instrumentation is functioning and maintained within defined tolerance limits and documentation is completed. Additionally, you will be responsible for minimizing errors and taking responsibility for correcting and documenting errors in a timely manner. You will perform all laboratory functions according to standard operating procedures and guidelines established by regulatory agencies, including participation in quality control and quality assurance activities.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution. You will also need to be certified as a Medical Technologist/Scientist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent. You will need to have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Additional Information
This position is eligible for benefits and offers a competitive hourly wage of $30.49 - $42.07, based on hours worked and years of experience. The ideal candidate will have flexibility in assisting with scheduling coverage and will be able to work every 4th weekend and rotate holidays.
