As a Developmental Disability Support Specialist, you will work closely with clients to ensure they receive consistent services tailored to their needs and wishes. Your responsibilities include:

  • Client Advocacy: Participating in Personal Care Plan meetings, leading ISSA visits, coordinating family visits, communicating safety and well-being concerns to supervisors, assisting clients in the community, maintaining relationships with volunteers, and ensuring needed supplies are available.
  • Documentation: Completing monthly summaries of client progress, updating Implementation Strategies upon receipt of updated Personal Plans from ISC, and assuring full implementation of programming is reflective in Therap.
  • Training: Monitoring and reviewing client skill training through assessments and direct observations, providing On-the-Job Training to new hires, providing training reinforcements on HCBS, Rule 115, and personal plans, and training staff on individual Implementation Strategies and outcomes.
  • Compliance: Maintaining and monitoring all CDS supports, participating in disciplinary actions of DSPs, and performing other duties as assigned.
