The Role

The Vendor Management Office (VMO) is a critical function within Lumen's Network, Engineering, Technology & Security (NETS) organization. As a Lead IT Systems Analyst, you'll partner with internal business partners to manage Lumen's activities with software and services suppliers. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our software asset management practices are aligned with industry best practices and that we're maximizing the value of our agreements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and improve best practices for software asset management
  • Establish internal processes to measure and document software license asset usage
  • Lead complex data analysis and verification projects to ensure license compliance and optimize software usage
  • Manage large and complex license audit efforts to conclusion, ensuring alignment with contract rights and best practices
  • Analyze vendors' software terms and conditions to determine alignment with business and user requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, MIS, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Strong analytical skills, including contract analysis, data analysis, and financial analysis
  • Ability to lead and work in a team, with minimal supervision
  • Experience managing complex software contracts and licensing for major industry vendors
Preferred Qualifications
  • Software Asset Manager Certification (SAM)
  • Experience using software management-related tools such as Flexera Net Management Suite (FNMS) and Flexera AppBroker
  • Demonstrated strong and positive interpersonal talents, with ability to interact with and influence people from all disciplines
Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

Location-based pay ranges are as follows:

  • $94,420 - $125,890 in these states: AR ID KY LA ME MS NE SC SD
  • $99,390 - $132,510 in these states: AL AZ FL GA IA IN KS MO MT ND NM OH OK PA TN UT VT WI WV WY
  • $104,360 - $139,140 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI
  • $109,330 - $145,770 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA

As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
