Job Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC machines to mill, drill, ream, tap, etc. various parts to drawings and specifications, ensuring proper equipment operation.
  • Download programs from the network server, edit as required, preset tooling, load tooling into the tool changer, adjust offsets, install fixtures, and set reference points for programs.
  • Able to correctly touch off tools, indicate fixtures in location, and make minor adjustments for proper machine tool operation.
  • Inspect first piece and obtain approval from designated personnel, check parts during run according to procedures, specifications, and customer requirements using various gauges.
  • Makes general decisions regarding quality, tolerances, and sequence of operations, inspects work in process for conformance to functional and aesthetic specifications.
  • Identify and resolve routine and some non-routine issues through effective troubleshooting, set up and complete secondary operations and/or machines or processes as required or instructed.
Requirements
  • High school education is required, with necessary training to be proficient in the position.
  • At least 18 months of CNC setup and operating experience and routinely meet performance goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with others to meet customer needs.
  • Able to perform basic math calculations such as decimal/fraction conversions and reading measuring tools.
  • Proper use of various gauges from calipers, micrometers, thread gages, depth micrometers, surface plate with height gauge, and other equipment.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with related company systems and programs.
  • Moderate analytical and problem-solving abilities to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Effective time management skills in prioritizing and addressing multiple and at times conflicting demands.
Estimated Salary Range

$55,000 - $70,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
