CRNA - Adult GI Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our Adult Anesthesiology Division at the Medical College of Wisconsin. As a CRNA, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anesthesia care to our patients in a dynamic and growing academic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Administer general and local anesthesia to patients
- Maintain anesthesia delivery systems and monitors, including testing and calibration
- Prepare patients to be effectively monitored
- Monitor patients under anesthesia
- Make recommendations regarding anesthetic care plans
- Perform post-procedure tests on patients to ensure they are recovering well
- Responsible for the operation of anesthesia equipment to monitor patients while delivering direct anesthesia care
- Provide direct patient care before, during, and after anesthesia to ensure continuity of care and quality
- Obtain complete patient medical histories, conducting physical exams, and pre-procedure interviews
- Review the complete patient medical history to confirm its authenticity with the patient/family to ensure it is accurate with the physical exams and pre-procedure interviews
- Administer/order required diagnostic and laboratory tests
- Work with Anesthesiologists to determine the next step of prep for the procedures and begin the stages of prepping the patient for the procedure
- Employ CPR or other emergency procedures as indicated
- Perform various administrative duties that might involve collecting medical records, conducting patient chart reviews, and following up with patients/families pre or post procedures
- Previous CRNA experience in Adult Anesthesiology or Health Care experience a plus
- Minimum Education: CRNA: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing
- Certification: Candidates must be either a Certified Nurse Anesthetist
- Board eligible for certification are also encouraged to apply
- Licensure: Wisconsin licensure or eligible
- AHA BCLS and/or ACLS
