Job Overview:
As a key member of our team, the Heavy Equipment Technician will play a vital role in ensuring the operational efficiency of our manufacturing equipment.

Position Summary:
The Heavy Equipment Technician will be tasked with the preventive maintenance, repair, and installation of various machinery and equipment. This role also encompasses maintenance support for the facilities and structures within the company.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Install, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair machinery, including company vehicles, loaders, forklifts, and specialized equipment.
2. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, utilizing repair manuals and parts catalogs as necessary.
3. Operate a variety of hand and power tools for repairs, lubrication, welding, cutting, and part replacements.
4. Conduct inspections of drives, motors, and belts, ensuring fluid levels are adequate and filters are replaced as needed.
5. Perform routine preventive maintenance to guarantee smooth operation of all machinery.
6. Dismantle equipment to access and replace defective components using hoists, cranes, and tools.
7. Possess basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing setting.
- High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with safety protocols, particularly lock-out/tag-out procedures and fall protection equipment.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 65 lbs and perform tasks that involve extended standing, walking, sitting, bending, and climbing.
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including dusty, hot, or cold settings.

Preferred Skills:
- Strong independent thinking skills while effectively collaborating within a team.
- Experience operating mobile equipment as required.
