Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be between $33 - $33.99 per hour. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Job Description

As a Nurse Specialist in our Med/Surg ICU, you will be responsible for:

  • Implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments, procedures, and special tests, and documenting treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
  • Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
  • Assessing and evaluating patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
  • Applying sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
  • Providing primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.

You will also collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients and direct and guide ancillary personnel to maintain standards of professional nursing.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A graduate degree from a professional academic nursing program.
  • A current NYS Registered Nurse license.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care (preferred, but not required).
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.

You should also possess knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques and demonstrate the ability to apply them in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.
