Overview

Western Specialty Contractors, a leading national specialty contractor, is seeking an experienced Sales and Project Manager to join its Charlotte branch. With over 100 years of history, the company has grown significantly, offering specialized services in masonry and concrete restoration.

Job Description

This pivotal role plays a critical part in fulfilling the branch's marketing objectives and achieving sales targets. Key responsibilities include taking off from blueprints and existing structures, developing estimates, writing client proposals, managing contracts, creating project schedules, and ensuring quality control.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in achieving branch marketing goals and sales objectives
  • Perform takeoffs, develop estimates, write proposals, manage contracts, create project schedules, supervise projects, and ensure quality control
  • Prepare customer invoices and assist with collection efforts as necessary
  • Pursue ongoing business development with customers, including architects, owners, engineers, and general contractors
  • Develop opportunities for initiating sales of Western's services in concrete/masonry restoration, waterproofing, etc.
  • Implement the branch marketing goals and action plans to educate new and existing customers about Western's services
  • Maintain relationships with both current and potential clients to market Western's services and expand the customer base
  • Provide customer support throughout all projects and maintain contact with customers during and after project completion
  • Accurately estimate and price all work to maximize volume and profitability
  • Prepare client proposals and follow up to close sales
  • Monitor and supervise the deployment of all projects to ensure quality and timely execution
  • Interact with superintendents and foremen to ensure customer/contact requirements and timelines are met
  • Document, coordinate, and communicate any project change orders to field and customer; ensure job files are maintained and complete
  • Assist in training and developing sales and field personnel to enhance the quality of company personnel
  • Ensure accurate and timely billings and assist with collection efforts as required
  • Maintain a high level of technical expertise by participating in appropriate seminars and training programs
  • Contribute to operating effectiveness by developing internal and external branch relationships
  • Participate in industry-related organizations to increase networking capabilities and develop new relationships and opportunities for work
Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  • At least 5+ years of experience in commercial construction (concrete and masonry restoration preferred)
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related field is a plus
  • The ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications is crucial for success and customer satisfaction
  • An ideal candidate will possess strong sales and project management skills, with a focus on sales if necessary
  • A thorough knowledge of the construction industry is beneficial
