Overview

The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a skilled Hearing Healthcare Specialist to join our team in providing exceptional care to our nation's heroes. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of veterans and their families.

About the Role

This position is responsible for conducting comprehensive audiological evaluations, selecting and fitting hearing aids, and providing rehabilitation services to patients with hearing loss. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong clinical background, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough audiological evaluations, including behavioral, electroacoustic, and electrophysiological assessments
  • Select and fit hearing aids, assistive devices, and other amplification systems
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans to address patient needs
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families on hearing conservation, rehabilitation, and management
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions and treatment outcomes

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess a doctoral degree in Audiology (Au.D.) or a related field and hold certification from the American Board of Audiology (ABA). The ideal candidate will also have experience working in an audiology clinic or hospital setting and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Benefits

The Department of Veteran Affairs offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
