Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key tasks:

  • Recording daily general ledger activity with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Processing accounts payable invoices and reconciling vendor statements in a timely manner.
  • Conducting daily bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Serving as the accounting lead for project implementations and new business lines.
  • Acting as the primary backup for other accounting positions.
  • Handling customer invoicing and payment collection.
  • Calculating and processing amounts due to vendors.
  • Reconciling the general ledger and completing month-end close processes.
  • Maintaining fixed asset listings and calculating monthly depreciation.
  • Generating financial reports and conducting analysis of employee expenditures.
  • Filing and remitting taxes, including preparation of 1099s and collection of vendor W-9 forms.
  • Assisting in the training of new staff and maintaining accounting procedure manuals.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Accounting.
  • 2-5 years of general accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (Intermediate to Advanced).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Personable, positive, and enthusiastic attitude with the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
  • Flexibility and willingness to support several departments.
