Job Description

Wound Care Nurse Role

The Wound Care Registered Nurse will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, achieving optimal outcomes. This role requires utilizing the Nursing Process, prioritizing nursing actions, and implementing physician orders accurately within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing patient care based on scientific principles and evidence-based practice
  • Recognizing changes in patient condition and intervening appropriately
  • Prioritizing nursing actions based on patient needs, acuity, and desired outcomes
  • Implementing physician orders accurately and efficiently
  • Educating and counseling patients and their families on wound care processes and issues

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate degree in nursing (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred for Magnet Hospitals)
  • A valid Registered Nursing license
  • A valid CPR certification from the American Heart Association
  • Prior experience working with wound care patients (training provided)
  • Prior experience with billing and coding is an asset
