Job Overview:

The Bioproduction Sales Expert for Production Chemicals will drive sales growth and profitability by actively handling funnel opportunities, developing new business relationships, and maintaining existing ones. This role requires a strong understanding of the bioproduction process, sales experience, and product expertise.

About the Job:

This is an outside sales role covering the San Francisco Bay area, Northern California, and the Pacific Northwest. The successful candidate will reside within the San Francisco Bay area and possess excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Search for new opportunities and use the product portfolio to build a foundation for long-term growth
  • Drive existing funnels of opportunities to accelerate closure rates
  • Apply intelligence-based prospecting to identify new potential opportunities
  • Prioritize New Product Introduction (NPI) prospects within the territory to improve adoption rates and revenue return
  • Act on marketing-qualified leads, quickly converting them to new opportunities
  • Collaborate with and influence Bioproduction Account Managers (BAMs) and Field Application Specialists (FAS) within their district to develop and lead account growth strategies
  • Establish and build relationships with key decision-makers and identify technical buyers
  • Assist all BAMs within the assigned territory with sales and account planning efforts to achieve sales goals, including value proposition development across the wide BCD portfolio
  • Aid in the development of technical solution-matching for complex opportunities
  • Attend technical collaboration visits to Business Unit manufacturing and R&D sites
  • Provide post-sales product support, follow up on all product performance complaints or inquiries to ensure resolution
  • Maintain and build technical knowledge on assigned product lines, company literature, and competitor products
  • Demonstrate the ability to build an Account Strategy based upon Value Proposition and customer knowledge

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Graduation in a life-science related field preferred, such as Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Engineering
  • 2+ years of sales experience working in a role related to the bioproduction process
  • CRM experience
  • Show sound judgment and tact when negotiating with internal and external customers
  • Must possess a strong understanding of customer challenges and solution development
  • Knowledge of Miller-Heiman sales technique or applicable experience
  • Travel requirement of 50% with some overnights

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated salary range for this position based in California is $91,000.00–$136,000.00. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
