Emergency Medical Technician

As an EMT Student with Acadian Ambulance Service, you will provide high-quality pre-hospital care and transportation to patients in need. Your primary responsibility will be to administer basic life support care, including patient assessment, treatment, and transportation to medical facilities. You will work closely with other medical personnel to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify signs and symptoms of illness or injury
• Administer basic life support care, including CPR and other emergency medical procedures
• Provide safe and efficient transportation of patients to medical facilities
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and treatment
• Participate in regular unit inventory and equipment testing to ensure all necessary equipment is present and in working order
• Collaborate with other medical personnel to ensure seamless patient care and transportation
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in an EMT course
• High School Diploma or GED
• National and/or State certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (determined by state requirements)
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association
• Valid state-issued driver's license (equivalent to a Louisiana Class 'D' driver's license)
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with employees and managers
• Knowledge of company protocols, operational procedures, and safety policies
Interpersonal Requirements:
• Maintain social, ethical, and organizational norms
• Achieve accomplishment of all task details, no matter how small
• Maintain good personal motivation and a sense of ownership of job tasks and results
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency for all work performed
• Maintain professionalism and respect with patients, co-workers, emergency service providers, healthcare workers, and the general public
