About the Role:

  • We are seeking a seasoned laboratory director to lead our clinical laboratory services at Newton Wellesley Hospital, a member of the Mass General Brigham system.
  • This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary leader to drive clinical excellence, quality, and efficiency in our laboratory operations.
  • The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leadership in laboratory medicine, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage the clinical laboratory team to ensure delivery of high-quality patient results and reports.
  2. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
  3. Collaborate with medical staff, nursing teams, and other hospital departments to promote efficient communication and problem-solving.
  4. Oversee the development and implementation of educational programs for laboratory staff to enhance their knowledge and skills.
  5. Maintain accurate records and reports, including laboratory statistics and quality metrics.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in science or medical laboratory sciences required; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of progressive healthcare/laboratory management experience.
  • ASCP or comparable certification is preferred.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as employee assistance programs.
