At PATH, we are dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for our clients. As a Safety Support Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our participants at our Interim Housing site.

About the Role

This position involves proactively monitoring the site's facilities and grounds, building rapport with participants to engage them in maintaining safety, and providing assistance and support when crisis situations arise. You will work closely with our case management team to provide support to the interim housing site, coordinate with contracted security agencies (if applicable), and conduct regular rounds of the facility and grounds.

You will also be responsible for drafting written documentation and correspondence regarding safety and security matters, responding to security and crisis situations using non-violent crisis intervention and verbal de-escalation strategies, and assisting with the development of forms, procedures, and manuals for the Metro LA Interim Housing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety and Security: Ensure the overall safety of the interim housing site through observation, de-escalation strategies, and ongoing participant engagement.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with the onsite case management team, contracted security agencies (if applicable), and other stakeholders to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
  • Documentation and Communication: Prepare written documentation and correspondence regarding safety and security matters, as well as respond to security and crisis situations.
  • Program Development: Assist with the development of forms, procedures, and manuals for the Metro LA Interim Housing.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1 year of experience working with vulnerable populations and/or security and/or de-escalation/nonviolent crisis intervention.
  • Education: All levels of experience and education welcome.
  • Mandatory Requirements: Employment eligibility verification, CPR/First Aid training, Tuberculosis Test, Background Screening, and Drug Test.
  • Driving: Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, proof of insurance and ownership for personal vehicles used during work duties, and ability to qualify for PATH's insurance coverage.
