Job Description and Duties

As a key member of the Department of Insurance, the Actuary Supervisor plays a crucial role in performing highly skilled actuarial analysis and managing the work of the life actuarial staff. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex actuarial analysis and provide actuarial support to other units within the Department.
  • Work under the general direction of the Chief Life Actuary to manage the work of the life actuarial staff.
  • Provide expert advice on actuarial matters and contribute to the development of actuarial policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other teams to identify and address actuarial risks and opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Eligibility for appointment requires passing the Actuary Supervisor examination.
  • Must have a strong background in actuarial science and a proven track record of success in actuarial analysis.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
Working Conditions:

This position is eligible for telework in accordance with CDI's Telework policy. Travel expenses are not reimbursed, however other authorized transit subsidies do exist for those who qualify.
