Job Summary:
The Blaster role is responsible for preparing production equipment for painting by washing, masking, and caulking surfaces as instructed. This position requires the ability to move equipment to the paint booth and maintain a safe and clean working area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Wash and clean equipment to ensure oil and dirt are removed.
  • Apply masking tape and paper to protect surfaces from paint.
  • Remove and dispose of tape and masking paper after painting is complete.
  • Caulk cracks in surfaces as necessary.
  • Move equipment to the paint booth using conveyor lines or loaded parts racks.
  • Sand or prepare surfaces for painting.
  • Handle paint, paint-related materials, and hazardous waste properly.
  • Perform quality assurance measures and necessary paperwork.

Physical Demands:
This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, exert moderate to heavy physical effort, and lift up to 50 pounds. The Blaster must also be able to access all areas of the plant and ground, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, the Blaster must be a self-motivated, multi-tasker with a strong work ethic. They must be able to read and comprehend instructions, and deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
