Behavioral Health Specialist

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Technician to join our team in Winchester, Massachusetts.
Job Summary:We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide direct patient care and participate in therapeutic milieu. The successful candidate will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and be responsible for providing accurate and timely documentation, establishing therapeutic relationships, and participating in patient rounds.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care, including accurate and timely documentation of AFS, progress notes, and observation sheets.
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients, maintaining professional boundaries.
- Participate in patient rounds or teams.
- Identify patient behaviors that contribute to the development of a crisis and utilize non-verbal and verbal techniques to de-escalate crisis situations.
- Communicate changes in patient status to RN.
- Follow Standards of Care and protocols for assigned patients.
- Remain awake and alert at all times while on the job.
- Perform Point of Care testing (POC).
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Prefer two years of college plus one year of clinical experience, preferably in a psychiatric setting.
- Verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work in collaboration with others.
- Previous experience in direct patient care preferred.
