Occupational Health Nurse

The LPN - PRN is a key member of our team at Athletico Physical Therapy, responsible for coordinating health care for employees in our onsite clinic. This position requires strong clinical and administrative skills, with a focus on providing exceptional care and ensuring compliance with medical surveillance programs.
Responsibilities:Clinical Responsibilities:- Administer medications as prescribed by a physician
- Take vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and weight
- Provide basic wound care, including cleaning and bandaging injured areas
- Administer injections of medication
- Perform immunizations
- Take medical histories
- Enter information into computer systems
- Manage IVs
- Monitor fluid/food intake and output
- Move patients safely
- Assess patients' reactions to medications
- Schedule appointments
- Keep medical records current
- Write prescriptions at a physician's request
- Provide guidance to onsite personnel at local clinics/client locations
- Assist with day-to-day issues and escalate accordingly to the Director of Operations and HR
- Manage all aspects of the Occupational Health Services Program
- Train and educate employees in health-related matters
- Prepare and supervise the clinic/patient interaction of the Overseeing Physician as necessary
- Maintain charts and employee records
- Case management of workman's compensation claims
- Maintain current case log for workplace injuries, outlining treatment plan for weekly case review
- Ensure compliance with the OSHA and DOT programs, such as hearing conservation, blood-borne pathogen training, random drug screening, and follow-up programs
- Maintain and update the OSHA log monthly
- Valid state LPN license
- 3+ years of nursing experience (required)
- 2+ years of occupational health experience (preferred)
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Strong administrative and management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality
- Experience in developing health/wellness programs and performing ergonomic assessments
- Strong knowledge of workers' compensation case management and regulations
- Working knowledge of HIPAA, ADA, FMLA, and OSHA regulations
- Familiarity with manufacturing and production facility practices
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Position may require proof of COVID-19 vaccination
