About the Role:
The Allergy Technician plays a vital part in delivering high-quality allergy care to patients at SENTA Partners. This role involves performing allergy testing, administering allergy immunotherapy, and educating patients under the supervision of a physician.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct allergy testing, including skin prick tests, intradermal tests, and patch tests.
- Administer allergy immunotherapy injections and sublingual immunotherapy treatments.
- Prepare and mix allergen extracts according to physician protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including test results and treatment plans.
- Educate patients on allergy testing procedures, treatment plans, and allergy management.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions to allergy tests and treatments and provide appropriate care as needed.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to provide coordinated patient care.
Requirements:
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or related certification is required.
- BLS certification is required.
- Previous experience as an Allergy Technician or in a similar clinical role is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
