Foundry Assistant

Job Summary:

CPP is seeking a skilled Foundry Helper to support our casting, ingot, and metals department. As a key member of our team, you will perform manual tasks to ensure productivity and throughput goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with loading or unloading casting furnaces.
• Participate in general departmental clean-up, including sweeping and shoveling of debris.
• Prepare molds for filling with molten metals.
• Clean furnaces and assist in the servicing, repair, and preparation for the operation of casting equipment.
• Adhere to all department and company procedures and policies.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Participate in safety improvement through observations and teamwork improvement events.
• Be accountable for working safely by following all safety rules and safe work practices.
• Meet established production rates consistent with quality expectations.

Requirements:

• Mechanically inclined.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
• Production operation experience preferred.
• Must be able to use and understand basic computer functions.
• HS diploma or equivalent GED required, but candidates not meeting this requirement who possess relevant experience will be considered.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment background check.
• Must be willing to participate in pre-employment and periodic drug screening.
• Must take a baseline hearing test prior to starting.

Working Conditions:

The job is performed under reasonably good working conditions with some exposure to noise, temperature, and machinery.

Schedule:

This is a full-time position with alternating weekend day shifts, weekday graveyard shifts, and weekend graveyard shifts.
