Job Description

A leading health system in Western North Carolina seeks an experienced Medical Director to lead its new Level 3 trauma program. As the ideal candidate, you will have a strong background in trauma care and exceptional leadership skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive trauma program that aligns with national standards.
  • Collaborate with hospital administration to strategize and execute plans for the trauma service line.
  • Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals involved in trauma care.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation bodies.
  • Provide direct patient care in the trauma center and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives related to trauma.
Requirements:
  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board-certified in General Surgery with a Fellowship in Trauma Surgery or Surgical Critical Care.
  • Current, unrestricted medical license.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in trauma care, with at least two years in a leadership role.
  • Proven knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards for a Level 3 trauma program.
Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary range of $350,000 - $450,000 per year, based on experience. The compensation package also includes professional liability insurance, comprehensive benefits, paid time off, CME/dues allowance, relocation assistance, and a generous bonus structure.
