About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Data Scientist to lead our AI/ML team and drive innovation in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Generative AI (GenAI) solutions. As a key member of our Data Science team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cutting-edge AI/ML models that empower our business stakeholders to improve associate and customer experience and drive operational efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy and Roadmap Development: Formulate a strategy and roadmap for the development, implementation, and efficiency monitoring of NLP, ML, LLM, and GenAI models.
  • Business Problem Solving: Translate business problems into technical solutions, leveraging data and advanced NLP, ML, LLM, and GenAI methodologies.
  • Model Development and Deployment: Lead the design, development, and deployment of GenAI and NLP models for business customers.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data science, data governance, engineering, and product teams, to design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models into production environments with a focus on reliability and scalability.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise a team of 3 to 5 top talents in NLP, ML, LLM, GenAI, and provide mentoring to foster their professional growth and development.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage in effective communication with business stakeholders regarding insights, model outcomes, and the strategic importance of AI initiatives.
Requirements
  • Education: Ph.D. (preferred), Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7+ years of professional hands-on experience leveraging large sets of structured and unstructured data for data-driven analytics and insights using ML, NLP, GenAI solutions.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, PySpark, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Azure.
  • Industry Expertise: Strong background in GenAI/NLP, machine learning, deep learning in the retail industry, particularly within retail operations.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
