Job Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team at Dewberry. As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and oversight to our design resources on all aspects of mechanical engineering. This includes providing operational and technical guidance to help meet client desires and budget. You will work with a team of engineers on a variety of private, public, and federal projects, and collaborate with electrical, plumbing, civil, structural, and other disciplines to provide full-range services to our clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and quality oversight of all project work involving mechanical engineering.
• Develop and implement technical training programs for staff.
• Assist in establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for mechanical discipline area.
• Engineer of Record, providing technical and cost estimates, and making decisions on the spot.
• Coordinate with all disciplines involved, including outside consultants, and provide technical interface with code officials and contractors.

Requirements

• Accomplished professional engineer (PE) with existing licensure in IL preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical oversight of multiple projects, with proven success providing technical oversight on projects that meet contract specifications and technical standards to the client on time and within budget.
• Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, and well-organized with good note-taking skills.
