Job Summary:

As a key member of our healthcare team, the Nursing House Supervisor Short Hour will serve as the on-site administrative designee for the entire facility during off-shifts and weekends. This role is responsible for managing all patient care departments, ensuring high-quality care and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage off-hours and weekend patient care activities, ensuring staff provides exceptional care and adheres to regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and monitor staffing for all shifts, maintaining optimal staffing levels and skill mix.
  • Participate in developing, reviewing, and updating departmental policies and procedures.
  • Identify and implement best practices to improve quality care and services.
  • Assess and monitor clinical nursing practice for optimal patient care.
  • Design and evaluate processes to improve systems and patient care results across the continuum.
  • Collaborate with all departments throughout the medical center.
  • Act as patient advocate and assist in developing, monitoring, and maintaining the budget.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience as charge nurse, preceptor, quality improvement champion, or other related leadership experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Registered Nurse License (California).
  • Basic Life Support.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum one (1) year of critical care or emergency department nursing experience preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in nursing preferred.
Additional Requirements:
  • Evidence of training completion as preceptor or charge nurse.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement, clinical care delivery processes, staffing, and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and other federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
