Job Title: Mission Planner/Orbital Analyst Trainer

Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Mission Planner/Orbital Analyst Trainer to join our team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. As a key member of our Training Department, you will be responsible for developing and delivering operations training curriculum to government customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and deliver training material to support automated scenarios, mission exercises, and certification check rides for customers and internal operations personnel.
  • Work with the Systems Engineering Lead to identify training needs and develop training plans and curriculum, including lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, mission scenarios, and evaluation tools.
  • Collaborate with mission operations personnel to ensure training curriculum and scenarios accurately represent current operational documentation used during on-orbit checkout, satellite commissioning, and execution of primary missions.
  • Support system development activities, such as requirements management, architecture development, integration and test, and formal program milestones.
  • Develop and deliver training material, including lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, training videos, mission scenarios, tests/quizzes, student guides, training plans, and other training material as necessary to support contractual training requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Top Secret SSBI/SCI clearance required.
  • Minimum of 9 years of operations/training experience.
  • U.S. citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • STEM bachelor's degree.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Web/video-based training development experience.
  • Lesson plan and test/quiz development experience within DoD programs.
  • Simulation/scenario development experience.
  • Experience utilizing training development tools, such as Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, or Articulate Storyline 3.
  • Ability to conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis in orbital maneuvers and orbit estimation.
  • Expertise in technical disciplines, such as orbital propagation and perturbations, orbit estimation, orbital maneuvers, modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Familiarity with astrodynamics tools, including FreeFlyer, System Tool Kit (STK), NASA General Mission Analysis Tool (GMAT), and Orbit Determination Toolbox (ODTBX).
  • Advanced Orbital Mechanics knowledge and experience.
  • Experience with agile process/scrum.
  • Experience with JIRA.
