Director of Emergency Training and Exercises

At the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our training and exercise programs. As the Director of Training, Exercises, and Evaluation, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our emergency training and exercises program, including designing and implementing the MTA enterprise-wide training and exercise cycle.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the process of creating and executing MTA-wide exercises, including annual coastal storm tabletops, winter storm tabletops, and hazard-specific exercises.
- Develop and deliver MTA-wide training programs, including annual coastal storm training, winter storm training, and hazard-specific training.
- Conduct at least one exercise per year to test the emergency preparedness plan, and conduct at least two scenario-based training sessions per year for executive leadership.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive Incident Command System (ICS) structure to use during emergency incidents and events.
- Direct the creation and implementation of training and exercise activities across the MTA, using the MTA All Hazards Plan as the foundational document.
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in a position(s) of progressively responsible experience in emergency management, project management, business continuity, public transportation, public administration, or experience in a large corporate or government organization with responsibility for producing actionable policies and plans.
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Completion of the U.S. DHS Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP).
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local (NYC) emergency management best practices and familiarity with training, exercise, and evaluation tools.
- A competitive salary range of $125,000-$140,000.
