About the Role

This is a Full-time Exempt level position, as defined by policy to mean working a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities.
  • Perform duties in the assigned instructional modality (hybrid, online or face to face) during the day, evening, or weekend on any WSU Tech campus/off-campus/on-line location.
  • Instructional counseling, academic planning, serving on various committees, recruiting, participating in local, state, regional, and national professional activities and organizations as needed.
  • Perform all duties as directed by the Program Director, Associate Dean, Dean, Academic Vice President, or the President.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:

  • Creates and/or uploads an appropriate course syllabus for each course to the Learning Management System.
  • Keeps students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance requirements.
  • Maintains industry credentials as appropriate to the teaching area.
  • Develops, revises, and/or recommends curriculum changes which meet the objectives of the course/program and improve student learning.
  • Fully participates in, utilizes and submits when due program review information, assessment data, and course/college evaluations.
  • Develops, and maintains a positive relationship with program Industry Advocate Teams (IAT).
Requirements
  • Associate Degree or higher, preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years' full time (or full time equivalent) current progressive work experience in aviation maintenance required.
  • Qualifications required for mandatory program accreditation.
  • Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate, required.
Preferred Requirements
  • Extensive experience with the following preferred:
  • FAA/FAR Part 147 requirements.
  • General Aviation Maintenance.
  • Previous teaching or training experience in adult education preferred.
Additional Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - must be able to work with students, technical and administrative personnel in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
