About the Opportunity:

This role is responsible for specimen processing, quality control, maintenance, test performance, and reporting test results. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Follows laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, quality control, and maintaining records of patient test results.
Performs only those moderate complexity tests within the scope of qualifications.
Performs and reviews quality controls in testing; decides if results are within acceptable ranges, researches problems, and corrects.
Prepares specimens to be stored or transported to the reference laboratory.
Operates, calibrates, and conducts performance checks on clinical laboratory equipment and monitors maintenance schedules.
Follows corrective action policies and procedures when test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.

Requirements:

1 year of previous similar lab or clinical experience preferred.
Ability to demonstrate integrity in the accurate performance of tests, reporting, or results and the documentation of errors.
Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and OSHA rules and regulations.
