Job Summary
At MasTec Advanced Technologies, we are seeking a skilled Corrosion Technician to join our team. As a key member of our corrosion control team, you will be responsible for performing basic field testing of corrosion control systems on underground and submerged metallic structures. Your expertise will be essential in recommending troubleshooting tests and identifying when such testing is required.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of this role include working independently, making field decisions without direct supervision, and being responsible for obtaining field data to determine the condition of structures under evaluation. You will also be responsible for compiling and submitting field data for senior staff review, being familiar with standard survey and construction practices for corrosion control projects, estimating duration for both engineering and construction projects, organizing and performing multiple small projects simultaneously, developing test procedures for complex troubleshooting, and evaluating field data and preparing draft reports for the area supervisor.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of 0-3 years of experience in the corrosion control industry, particularly related to cathodic protection work. You must also be a U.S. citizen, have demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, and hold a current certification with AMPP Cathodic Protection Tester (CP1). In lieu of NACE Certification, an Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology is required. Additionally, you will need the ability to work independently as well as interact with team members, clients, and management staff, and have a clean driving record and the ability to operate a company vehicle.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This role may require significant time standing or walking on uneven ground, possible climbing of ladders or being in high places, working in tight spaces, lifting up to 60 pounds, and, in general, being overall physically demanding. It may also require work in an all-weather environment.
