Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated ICP Instructor to join our team at the Center for Multicultural Equity and Access. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching middle school and high school core or elective subjects, fostering intellectual growth, cultural understanding, and personal development among a diverse student population.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Facilitating Learning: Develop and deliver engaging and interactive lessons, aligned with the program curriculum and objectives. Utilize instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles and promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Mentorship and Guidance: Provide individualized attention and support to students to help them achieve their academic and personal goals. Serve as a role model and mentor, fostering a sense of community, inclusivity, and cultural sensitivity among the students.
- Curriculum Management: Review, revise, and produce curriculum for the Institute for College preparation, 7-12th academic schedule to meet or exceed DC and/or national standards. Collaborate with fellow instructors to plan interdisciplinary lessons and implement inclusive pedagogy and enhance engagement for the students and instructional continuity content for each grade level.
- Professional experience tutoring or teaching a classroom
- Professional or personal experience with underserved students of color
- Professional experience with curriculum development and standards of practice
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to connect with and inspire diverse groups of students
- A commitment to fostering inclusivity, cultural awareness, and equity in education
