Overview
The 8D EH Medical Acute Care Unit is a 13-bed adult medical surgical unit at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. Our team provides comprehensive medical, surgical, and diagnostic services to patients with a wide range of diagnoses. As a Registered Nurse II, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve desired outcomes.
Salary and Benefits
We offer an estimated salary of $63,500 per year, plus benefits that support your physical and mental well-being. Enjoy a competitive hourly rate, with pay grade Health-27, and a scheduled weekly hours of 36. You may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $10,000 for full-time positions with a 2-year service agreement.
Job Description
- Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process;
- Deliver safe and effective care and interact with other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired results;
- Work rotating shifts, including some weekends and holidays, in a dynamic environment that requires flexibility and adaptability.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state;
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Healthcare Providers;
- A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse;
- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred;
- Ability to perform job functions while standing, walking, and climbing stairs;
- Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes.
