Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests on patient specimens, analyzing test results, and preparing samples for testing.

You will also be responsible for calculating test findings, maintaining records, and preparing and determining the validity of solutions, reagents, media stains, and various materials in the testing process.

This is a full-time position that requires a Bachelor's Degree from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology, or equivalent experience.

Preferred qualifications include 6 months to 1 year of medical laboratory technologist experience in an acute care facility.

Responsibilities
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests on patient specimens
  • Analyze test results and prepare samples for testing
  • Calculate test findings and maintain records
  • Prepare and determine the validity of solutions, reagents, media stains, and various materials in the testing process
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology, or equivalent experience
  • Preferred 6 months to 1 year of medical laboratory technologist experience in an acute care facility
  • Registered or registry eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT or CSMLS within 12 months of hire)
